Well, 2006 wasn't hikeless for me (thank god, allah, yhw, zeus or whatever):
There was this really great weekend hike and the Mountaintown Trail hike and
SoRuck2006, all remembered here:

I don't predict or voice my hopes and dreams about the future anymore: it's
a really BAD habit to get into, in my experience: people around you think
you've promised something when all you've done is talk about your hopes and
dreams for the next year . . .
Then there are the hikes that didn't happen:
In 1999 through the Smokeys . . .
In 2000 I nearly chucked everything for a thru . . . but I found a job in
the nick of time and I was able to provide for my two daughters and so I
stayed to fulfill those responsibilities . . . and I am not sorry I did . .
