Hey,

I wasn't trying to push anybody's buttions, however I find that 
Americans are a creature of comfort.  The biggest source of air 
pollution is coal fired power generators:

An obvious solution is stop using coal fire generators and ration 
electricity.  You're hot, sorry; you're cold, sorry.

Many enviromentalist are actually optimists for they believe that 
we can actually change the climate, I am a pessimist, we should 
have started worrying a hundred years ago.  Unfortunately (or 
maybe fortunately for nature) most people are pretty oblivious.  
I am with the group that mankind will not exist in a hundred 
years, we will have poisoned ourselves.  The enviroment has a 
way to recover pretty rapidly, there will be few signs of 
mankind in a thousand years.
