You CAN ride a series of funiculars from Chamonix over glaciers all the
way to Valle d'Aosta in Italy. One of the spans is the longest
unsupported funicular span in the world - and boy it DOES sway!

| deserved coffee, I & beer at 5:00 PM. | I is Ibuprofen, Advil.
I took 98 over
| Wandered town. Din at 8:00 was | the 17 day trip.
| Savoyard salad (ie, sausage & cheese |
| on lettuce), GOOD bread, beer and fondue |
| all for FF129 - They tried to charge me |
| 25 for min water & charged me FF42 |
| for a 50cl beer - ie $7.00! Fondue |
| was good. Back to hotel & bed. |
| Washed socks, read. Bed at 1015. |

| animal exh, lift down to glacier | Animals were stuffed.
| grotto - neat walls. Cafe au lait |
| in gare. Many hikers on glacier. | Gare is French for
train station.
| Back down to town. Steep walk |
| to Le Brevant lift. Up, great |
| 360 view. Lenticular cloud over |
| M. Blanc. Lac Brevant below. MANY | It is especially fun to
watch them
| parasailers & hang gliders. Grande | take off.
| cafe at upper terrace. Good views |
| of town. Many needles across. Down | Needles of rock.
Aiguille mean
| to PlanPraz, then hike Grand | needle.

| WAS 2 hrs - 2:30 - 4:30. Lift down, | American national parks
inflate hiking
| then bus back to Cham. Reward: | times by 2. In Europe,
you have to

their times.
