Nice post about the Eagle Creek Trail.

An additional note:

This piece of trail has long been regarded as part of
the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail), although it is not the
"official" route.  Nearly 99% of PCT hikers take the
Eagle Creek by cutting off the PCT itself at Indian
Spring Campground down a short but steep connector
trail that ties in to the famous and outrageously
beautiful Eagle Creek Trail, following it all the way
to Cascade Locks (a PCT trail town on the Columbia
River). 

If I remember right, the PCT was not routed down the
Eagle Creek for political/overuse concerns.
