[at-l] Priority Mail forwarding - the lowdown from the USPS

Hi all,

Last week when Sly indicated that forwarding Priority Mail packages may
incur fees, I was surprised. So, I emailed the USPS and found out that
Priority Mail packages shipped via General Delivery can be forwarded with no
extra fees even if they have been given to the recipient. As long as the
package hasn't been opened, just add a new address label and give it back to
the counter to be forwarded.

I've included the emails below - I had forgotten to ask about the "no extra
fees" part in my first message so the second one (which comes first below)
clarifies that.

If you get charged, I imagine you can get the name of the person at the
counter, document the date, and try to get recourse from the postmaster.

I hope this helps save someone some fees from a misguided postal worker.
;-}
