We just made reservations at the Fontana Village Inn and were delighted
to find out that they have a special "hiker rate". When we mentioned
the SoRUCK, the price of a room immediately went down drastically. Just
in case anyone else is looking for a motel/hotel during the SoRUCK......

That's cool. I heard Fontana Village was under new management and that they
didn't give hiker rates this year. Seems as though I got bad info.
It's good to know. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibilities to
have the SoRuck at Fontana Village one of these years.
Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned it her, but from what I heard, someone
booked 30 spots in basecamp a couple weeks ago. It's why I suggest, once I
announce the SoRuck to book a spot. They have a liberal cancellation policy in
case you can't make it.
While I'm here, I'm still looking for a few donations to the raffle. Here's
what I have now.

I'm thinking about adding my 2 volume Hiking the Appalachian Trail. Here's
a good set on Ebay...

If you haven't heard what the raffle's all about, here's a brief description.

Ideally I'd like about 12 decent items. If we get more, we can consolidate
some into packages.
If you're coming, don't forget to sign the food list

Thank yeah,
