Measuring wheels,
In 1990, I and two other members of the 1990 Appalachian Trail Circle Expedition measured the entire trail by a wheel. This measuring was done with meticulous care for validity and reliability. We were very satisfied with our efforts and our results which, we felt, were consistently as accurate as a ground measurement, with the same measuring instrument powered by only three different individuals, could be.
