He lives in Boulder, which is next to (East of, not in) the Rockies. 

I've gone through Berthoud Pass in Winter; the sneaux piles up pretty high there...I generally go every couple years or so, to a ski area.
(Winter Park is accessed from I-70 through that pass)

My mother also lives in Colorado, next to the Rockies...
