Ruck -- a crowd especially of ordinary or undistinguished persons or things;
"his brilliance raised him above the ruck."
The RUCKs started out as very small informal Appalachian Trail
get-togethers -- to allow potential thruhikers to pick alum's brains.
Originally in PA. Have grown, gotten organized, spread, etc. Now more of a
reunion.

Subject: [at-l] RUCK?
I know stupid question, but I am a military guy who has done 90% of his
backpacking and kayaking in Europe. So I was wondering what the heck is RUCK.
I am trying to integrate into the community and I thought the Army had alot of
acronyms!
Jae
