Well, a little off topic (because I haven't hiked up that way) but any hike  
to the Bromiley View Inn near Stratton Mountain where they have an 
extraordinary  variety of beer available, would be a great road to cross from Stratton.  
I  believe that is Route 11 at that spot but it couild be Route 30.  They  
split just up the road.
