I love that phrase "grammar slut."  Some of us are spelling sluts, and  some 
of us are idea sluts and some are pronunciation sluts (though you could not  
tell the latter from the e-mails unless they spell out their  pronunciations).  
Criticism of grammar and spelling and the like are one  way to stimulate the 
list.  Did you think that people would be encouraged  to express themselves to 
the list by criticising their efforts?  
 
Next thing you know there will be hiker police to criticize the way people  
walk.  There are already "Tuckerization Police" who criticize how one packs  or 
what one might pack for their trek.  Of course, if anyone attends a  
Gathering it is evident that there are those who snicker at those who have only  
walked part of the AT.  "Real men" (and women) do thru-hikes.  
 
Ah, the things one can learn from the hiking community.
