Based upon where she is, it looks like the thruhiker interviewed (Catchup) is the same one maintaining a journal at http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=184009 .  Her journal is current through 5/27. Perhaps we'll get some clarification when the journal is updated.
   
  If the perp's stolen another vehicle, the likelihood of any further interaction with the trail community is remote.
