Mr Cat,
    I knows where yur at, me too, different reasons but  know some about 
yours and sympathize. 
Sly's prbly rite in that it is the Trail we want to support and  if most of 
the $$ go there ok. Backing a maintaining club is a good  alternative. Also 
staying associated keeps ya current on actions. 
It's taken me a lot of years but you can get to the point of  unceremoniously 
pitching, many without opening, the extraneous requests  when your 
comfortable knowing you give more than your share in both $$ and  sweat. BTW me too 
since 1990.
