Mr Cat,
I knows where yur at, me too, different reasons but know some about
yours and sympathize.
Sly's prbly rite in that it is the Trail we want to support and if most of
the $$ go there ok. Backing a maintaining club is a good alternative. Also
staying associated keeps ya current on actions.
It's taken me a lot of years but you can get to the point of unceremoniously
pitching, many without opening, the extraneous requests when your
comfortable knowing you give more than your share in both $$ and sweat. BTW me too
since 1990.

Ya know, I've been looking at my 'annual renewal' form sitting here on
my desk for a couple of weeks now. And, I have no clue if I'm going to
renew, or not. Looking at the more durable card, which invokes the
grandeur and spirit of the trail, I find that I've been a member since
1990. In those 17 years I have not been less satisfied and more
disappointed with the organization than I am right now.
