Funny thing...when I was a kid, and learning all those life lessons from 
my dad, we lived in a house in Bedford, Indiana. The address was 716 
22nd St.  The landmistress' name was Sally Root.   I wonder if she and 
this slangified 'Charlie Root' are related....
