Ah, those were some good times. Let's see if I remember them correctly:

RocksNRoots: "You use Lekis and once left the trail at a road crossing, therefore you are an advocate of ridgetop condo development."
Shane: "Zen gardens at shelters are not detrimental to the trail experience."
Bald Eagle: "I am an engineer. I must use logic. This is not logical."
Gary from Fairfax (whatever happened to him?:)): "Attached is my travel journal from my trip to Zanzibar, Nairobi and Mogadishu."
RoksNRoots: "Travel journals demean the spirit of true AT servanthood. When I sat at the feet of The Master at The Center, he taught that you should be content to only travel the AT. That, and leg wrassle shirtless at every opportunity."
Gary from Fairfax: "I had to call in for a helicopter evac in Mogadishu. Quite exhilarating. I ate pumice casserole."
RoksNRoots: "Cell phone use diminishes the warlord experience. Knowing that you had a cell phone now invalidates my warlord experience."

It went something like that. Yep, it did.

        Take Care,

        Tim

          Me, I miss them.

          - Greenbriar, you have a problem with that?

Since nobody much posts any more on at-l, and some of the culprits of the flame wars of old have been silent, it’s not really all that surprising. Now, if somebody would just bring up guns on the trail, the effectiveness of water filtration systems, cell phones, and/or badly behaved trail dogs, we could probably get something going….

What happened to the flame wars of old. Have email lists gentrified? Not that I miss them, but just curious. The AT lists seemed particularly, but not uniquely, prone to them.

              Just curious.
