[at-l] Foot Bridge

I'm not sure that it's a "done deal."

There are a lot of egos involved, a lot of organizational CYA playing out, a
lot of "if the money (read someone else's money) is available, let's get some"
going around, a lot of "what's in it for me" thinking, etc, etc, etc.

Given the economy, it could die on its own.

Who knows?

I'm sure that if Bland could get the $600,000 to spend any way they wanted to,
they'd not build the bridge. However, if the money is going somewhere along
the AT they might just want it in Bland. Last week, I stopped at a small
store on Rt. 42, right after the local Newspaper front page story came out. I
heard some colorful opinions on it. But then, they weren't the "Officials."

So...is this a 'done deal'? Or, is there still time to put pen to paper
and try to do 'the right thing'?
