Clyde,

I know what you mean. Two years ago when I started the Weight-Loss journey, I had lost weight before. But when I actually got down close to goal weight, it was like life never existed before then. Now it exists in Big Gulps and every day is more special than the last.

I wish you Godspeed on your hike. We are all rooting for yo u. And we all have no doubt that Katahdin is calling you.

In 2006 when I broke my leg I was really bent. I am not sure that in the long run it wasn't a good thing.
When I was a kid I left home and went overseas. When I left, my mama cooked fried chicken the way I liked it. By the time I sat at her table again 2 1/2 years later, her fried chicken was the food of the gods. When I laid down the leg bone it looked like it had laid in the sun for a year. I got every bit of flavor out of that chicken.
When I left in 2006 I was going to hike from Maine to Georgia. I was gonna make it. This time I intend to get to the marrow. I will try to hike like every day could be the last.
