[at-l] Need input on tent and sleeping bag selections

I figure there probably aren't many scorpions on the AT  :-)  Are snakes nocturnal? As for other critters including hikers, well, they come into the shelters, too, so a tent would be the only relative protection there, and they can chew, claw, or unzip their way in, so nothing's certain....
