That's true.  Our lifestyle is so dependent on having electricity, that being without it, even for those of us who are used to "camping out", its still a pain.   Probably best to pack your gear and go for a hike until the power is back on!

  That said, living in a cold snap without any power for more than a day or so gets old pretty quickly.
