[at-l] thru hike with kids?

Several years ago there were two famlies with young children  hiking the AT 
the same year. At least one family participated in the skits at  Trail days.
 
Also about the same time frame a rather large family, about  four childern, 
hiked South Bound. I met them on the trail in Vermont in  October and saw the 
again the next Spring at Neals Gap. The youngest needed to  be carried most of 
the way.
 
I don't remember any of the details or know if there were any  journals.  
 
Anybody else remember more details?
