       I considered buying a cheap car to leave on the trail. I would
use it to assist my weekend hikes. The plan would be to drive to leaver
car each weekend and take that car out as far as I wanted to hike. That
way you check up on the leaver making sure its still ok before you set
out. I suppose you could do the same thing for a through hike! And why
not! A cheap car could cost a lot less than a rental. Now if I could
just find someone to drive and follow me up the PCT next year....
