I checked the ATC website today and saw that a swath of trail was  
closed near Pearisburg and they're shuttling hikers around it.  I  
wonder how long that will last.

(I'm heading out for a week or so south from Waynesboro in a couple  
weeks, will be interesting to hear from the hikers who've just come  
from around Pearisburg.)
