There's at least one more advantage to alcohol stoves - nothing to break.

Then there's the question of how you cook. I'm a "boil-water" cook, and
between that and solo hiking the alcohol stoves are a no-brainer for me. But
cooking for more than one, or expecting to cook your souffle on low heat...
