Hey, gang,
Many of you have crossed paths with Bart Smith, photographer 
extraordinare, who worked with Earl Shaffer, Karen Berger, and yours 
truly on coffee table books about the National Scenic Trails. Today, 
Bart wrapped up the entire National Scenic Trail system, finishing his 
CDT walk at Yellowstone. He's been working on his hike (taking photos 
the whole time) for 16 years. I just got a link sent to me about his

He's flying to Washington, DC tonight to be part of a celebration  of 
the 40th Anniversary of the National Trails System tomorrow at the 
Smithsonian. I was invited and wish I could have gotten there ... what
