What model Montrail were you using?

This past summer's hike made me a convert on trail shoes, thanks to Mara! Thanks Stitches!

Outside of Pearisburg my Vasque boots gave out and were replaced with a pair of Montrails. Hiked all the way to Bears Den Hostel with them and I started to refer to them as my trail slippers. I wouldn't have believed how much difference this simple change made to my hike! I found I could do slightly better mileage each day, perhaps 10% longer but found I didn't need rest days in order for my feet/legs to recover, as on my previous hikes.

From Pearisburg to Bears Den, about 360 miles I took no zero days, only a "nearO" at Daleville & Waynesboro. Quite a change from needing a zero every 8-9 days on the trail, or about every 100 miles.
