If you have been around hiking circles long enough,  you know of the phrase
"Hike Your Own Hike".

The idea that as long as your hike does not effect other  people, it's all 
kosher.

Well, if you been around the hiking community long enough, you
also know that we can be  contentious bunch at times.

So, I a summed up the real philosophy of hiking:

HIKE MY HIKE - DAMN IT
The one, true, correct and absolute way to hike,

Why? Because all other ways are wrong. ;)
