I think it was gary who was talking about a food-stealing bear near
testnatee gap/Cowrock.

I just got this email from old friends and past thruhikers Homeless and
Unemployed, and these sentence stood out in light of that post:

" A big black bear stole four days of food from us just five miles past
Neals Gap. Yes, we did have it tied high up in a tree."

So, it's current news.
There are getting off in Gatlinburg after a wet and cold romp in the south.
