So I was standing on top of Bear Mountain (highest point on the AT in CT) while wearing my kilt & holding my umbrella. I was talking on my cell phone discussing whether it is necessary to actually touch each white blaze to be a pure thruhiker or just to pass close enough to see them..

Umbrellas, phones or kilts can always get something started!  (and of course the 3rd rail of AT-dom: purity! (shudder)).
