Hmmm....the % I just came up with is right at 5% for both beers (in 
America)....
and, from the ne'er wrong Wikipedia, this: Although of lesser fame than 
Guinness,
Smithwicks is often regarded as the 'local favourite' amongst Irish 
pubgoers.
