I for one would much rather sit in front of a fireplace with a good cup of coffee rather
than be miserable on the trail. Many years ago we moved from Georgia to Canada.
The first winter was really hard on us (It started in October and finished up in April).
My wife and I took up cross-country skiing. We are looking forward to going back
doing this activity when we move to Vermont.

Our other plans, though not this year, is to spend part of February and March in the
southwest. It is still cold out there, however there are few tourists and we can see the
sights far from the maddening crowds. We may even volunteer at a national park.

Cheers,
Grey Owl
