Okay. Jocassee Gorges: maybe not to 100 yet. Most certainly over 50. I counted until I got to 25 or so. That was around 2000. If I have not walked that section 10 times in any year since, I would be surprised. So maybe it is over 100, but that sounds so outlandish as to be hard to say. Let us just say A LOT.

It would be kind of like living right at Amicalola Falls State Park. You would almost HAVE TO go to Springer and back every few weeks, just because.

There was a trail that few had traveled.
But I walked the thing 'til my socks unraveled.
It's full of stairs, and full of falls,
And full of views that the soul enthralls.

Or something like that.

Thinking of hiking the Foothills Trail this spring. Has anyone here done it? I've got the map and guidebook, but it doesn't look like there's any place to resupply. Since I'll be taking a week or so to do it (age and lard-assness require a slow pace), any suggestions that might help me avoid carrying seven days worth of food would be appreciated. Is there anywhere along the route where a shuttler could drop off a resupply?
