If they are at all interested in birding, but not yet expert at Eastern id's and songs, get them the CD of Eastern Birdsong @ Cornell Ornithology Lab ($25?) and see the AZ Trail forum at TJ for a neat idea about interfacing the CD with pics on an Ipod...If money is no object, get them the Ipod also, and load it with the songs and pics :)
