For those of you in the Atlanta area, I wanted to invite you to a
really neat AT presentation. As you know, Gene Espy hiked
the AT in 1951, making him the second person to ever thru
hike the entire trail. He is doing a presentation and book
signing of his newly released "Gene Espy-The Trail of My Life"

The event is totally free and should be really interesting and f
un! I had the opportunity to hear him do his presentation at
the Gathering in West Virginia last fall, and it was fantastic!!
Definitely a must for hikers and backpackers. :)

I have included the basic gist below. We would love to see
you there!!

What: Gene Espy- The Trail of My Life
When: February 21, 2009 7:00 PM
Where: Pickneyville Park, 4758 S. Old Peachtree Rd,
             Norcross, GA 30071

Description: Gene Espy is the second man to hike the entire
length of the Appalachian Trail. He hiked more than 2,000 miles
in 1951 and has written a book about his adventure.

He will do a presentation and slide show about his hike and
share stories with all of us. The evening will end with a book
signing and meet and greet. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr.
Espy speak in West Virginia a few months ago and he is simply
delightful. If you ever wondered what it is like to embrace the
wanderlust that is inside you and throw caution to the wind,
hitting the trail with abandon....then this is the evening for you!
