[at-l] Math Question

If the AT were divided into 40 equal sections with Section 1 starting at
Katahdin and Section 40 ending at Springer, where, roughly, would
Sections 22 and 23 be? I'm thinking somewhere in the northern section of
Virginia, maybe just south of Washington Monument State Park (or
thereabouts), and going through to somewhere in the northern half of
SNP.

 


If someone could give more accurate locations, I would be eternally
grateful. I'm not very good at math, though I am getting better at
subtracting when you have the big numbers under the little numbers.
