Drat, the photos are missing the car I'm gonna get when I hit the lotto:? a 1958 Impala convertible, cream-colored with a tan interior.? It's the car (used) my Mom had when I learned to drive in 1963.? Loved that car!? (Even if we eventually had to keep a coffee can in the backseat to bail out the wells where your feet went.? When the car got older every time it rained, those wells filled with water.)

Me at 16:? "Mom, could I use the car Saturday night?

Mom:? "Yes, if it's washed and waxed when you're ready to go. And you know you have to bring it back with as much gas in it as it has when you leave home."

Mom was pretty darn smart.

Hehehe. Nice memories. In 1978 I was driving to a job interview at Polaroid and
I was pulled over for speeding. I had my older brother's 1952 Rocket V-8
Oldsmobile! One of the first cars with a hydramatic transmission if I remember
correctly. This one had a quad carb in it,so it flew and it certainly gulped the
gasoline, which at the time was averaging 60 cents/gallon. --RD
