The definition of "fact" is: "Knowledge or information based on real occurrences". The height of a mountain is a good example. The height is measured as best as possible based on the technology available at the time. As technology improves, the measured height "fact" changes. Or does it really change, or just becomes more accurate? Dunno. But anyhoo, the original question was whether or not facts take on a qualitative value of "good". My thought is that facts are neutral and take on no value, good or bad.

Is it a fact that you just replied to a post from over 6 months ago???

  :-)

I've got a buddy who likes to debate the "facts" of hiking and such. He insists that facts are "good", and I say that facts take on no inherent value. Is there an axiom in logic that bolsters my claim?

The 'facts' are always changing, aren't they? So, most don't hold true for very long.
