It's probably a bit of directed karmic action, which can certainly seem
magical; the Swedish powers-that-be probably direct their sport teams to use
their spare time to assist hikers in order to make up for some of the Viking
mayhem a thousand years ago, and since their original victims are now rich
casino-owners, hikers are the next best receipients of their philantropy :)
