Additional, updated local report here:

A search on google maps for Ross Township, Pennsylvania, (20 miles northeast
of Allentown) produces a view of a nice area . . . I suspect neighbors will
be surprised to hear the couple kept, in addition to the bear, "a lion,
cougar, jaguar, tiger, black bear, leopard and two servals on the property
in Ross Township, a rural area in the Pocono Mountains" - - - - it doesn't
look too far from the Appalachian Trail? (I'm not so familiar with the AT's
route thru Pa -- looks like its east of the section between LeHigh and Wind
Gaps?)
