Like you say bodies change.  There was one time while hiking in the Cherokee National Forest not too far from my previous home in Tellico Plains, TN that I became hypothermic instead of my typical hyperthermic.  It was really scary.  I had never experienced that and hope to never again.  In just a short time I found that I couldn't hardly lift my feet over small trees across the trail, my steps became uncoordinated, and my head was all fuzzy like I was kinda drunk... but I swear that I was sober!
 
No matter what every one should listen to their body and go with that.  And, just because your body used to be one way does not mean that it can't go the other.  It is always best to err on the safe side.
