[at-l] Introduction

Hello at-l list!  I'm new to this list and wanted to tell y'all a bit about
me and why I joined.

My big plan is to hike the AT next spring, 2010, northbound from Springer.
Not sure yet exactly of departure date, but sometime mid March to early
April.  I have little backpacking experience, maybe 10 trips ever, only a
couple of nights by myself, never out more than 4 nights at a stretch.   I
just did the 40 miles north of Pearisburg VA in August to really think
through if I want to do this.  I do.  Definitely.

I've been lurking the last few weeks.  I appreciate all the info that is
shared here and am on chap 20 or so of Then The Hail Came. (good one!)
 I've visited many of the links that have been posted and I'm doing my best
to educate myself on gear, what to expect, etc.  Pretty soon I'm going to
start asking a LOT of questions, LOL!  Please be patient with me, the one
thing I've learned as I lurk here is that often I have no idea what you all
are talking about, so there will be many clarifying type of questions from
me, I'm sure.

Oh, I go by Tortoise.

I really appreciate all the info you share here.  This list is great!
