[at-l] How important was freestanding for you?

What do you use? I've always thought there was a weight penalty for free-standing....

I never thought a free-standing tent was important until I had one.
Now I wpuld rather not do without.
I also never ran into a shelter so full of tents that I could not use it.
But I would rather see a tent in a shelter than crap in a gap. that's
just disgusting!
