The right-angle shut-off valve can be used for a Platypus or any of
them with that size hose. Totally stops the leaking, and also stops
the need for the bite valve.

I generally use the bladder when I'm in a hurry, or to gather extra
water at night. Normally I drink enough water at streams to get me to
the next one, with a cup on the outside to dip extra as I go.
Sometimes, when I'm behind on water, I'll fill my triple-duty Nalgene
12-oz bottle for between streams. I use it to measure, dehydrate
veggies, and drink coffee from. My other bottle is just a big-mouth
1-liter water bottle. Aquafina, I think.
