[at-l] First signs of fall

I'll second that.  I usually hit Nantahala during the last days of September
and first few days of October, when the leaves are just beginning to turn up
high.

So far the only sign of fall I've seen is the angle of the sun, which is not
as far north and is heading back to the Southern Hemisphere.   That sets in
motion longer nights in the arctic, which triggers the fall cool fronts.
