A few things about Snodrog's really nice picture:

1. You need to have a Whiteblaze account and to sign-in before you can view these links. After you sign-in you can browse to the picture.

2. Katahdin Lake is 5 miles in a direct line from Chimney Peak, Baxter Peak is another mile away. The picture is taken from the southern shore, where Katahdin Lake Camps are located.

3. The basin with the massive rock wall is North Basin, this view looks directly into it with Great Basin to the left and partially obscured. Little North Basin has the smaller rocky exposure that looks fan-shaped.

4. South Turner Mtn. is the summit on far right.

I love the detail in the picture, you can pick out a lot of the little ups & downs on the Knife Edge!
