The short version is http://www.hammockforums.net

These folks are as serious about enjoying hanging between two trees as any
group of people out there.

A newbie asked be about camping/hiking hammocks.

I only tried one a couple of times -- many years ago.

Told him I was not a good source of information, but I bet I knew folk who
were.

Please post opinions/information/etc -- or point me to good discussions of
what is available and good discussions, which compare/contrast.

Thanks

Chainsaw.

BTW -- For the old-timer friends --
As a result of one of my many, many medical workups a year or so ago, I
suspect I found out why I didn't rest well in a hammock. Albeit I do not
have
sleep apnea (obstructive sleep apnea or central sleep apnea), my blood O2
drops significtlly when I am sleeping on my back -- which I did in a
hammock -- hence poor rest. I suspect it also is related to why I prefer
tent
backpacking to staying in shelters. I always found a hip hole and stayed on
my side in a tent. But the hard floors of shelters often had me waking up
on
my back.
