[at-l] Comm device for AT and other eastern trails

I looked at getting a "smart phone" but found out I need to get a "data
plan" ont op of the usual monthly fees and texting is extra on top of that.
Data and texting are separate from the 700 minutes I'm already buying for my
dumb phone and using less than 100 of. All told they wanted me to buy the
phone then pay them $180/month plus taxes and assorted fees. NOT!
