[at-l] Ecuador

Nice to know someone has been there and gives it a good recommendation. My gf 
and I are wanting to go there next yr. We are looking at flying into Quito and 
staying there for a couple of days then head on down to Cuenca for hopefully a 
week.
We are looking at retiring there in a couple of yrs.

In 2003 went I went to Quito, Coca and the upper Napo, the Galapagos and 
Guayaquil. I had a ball, and would heartily recommend the country, outside of 
politics.

Just curious if anyone on the list has ever been to Ecuador for a vacation or 
backpacking in the Andes?
