[at-l] roads out in Whites

It has suddenly hit me today that the impact of Irene is greater than I
imagined. Several important roads in the White Mountains have closed,
including Tripoli Road, Rt. 302 and the Kancamagus Highway. Jefferson Notch
Road is also closed. Heavy rains on Sunday eroded slopes and undermined
roads. This won't affect hikers except that hitching just might not work in
some areas.

Rt. 112 to Kinsman Notch is closed in one section.

Rt. 118 from Warren to N. Woodstock is closed. This is the normal way to
slack hikers from Kinsman Notch to Glencliff.

Many of the 75 closures are short dirt roads to trailheads but about 10 will
affect the "Leaf Peeper" season and NH's tourist revenue unless they can get
in some quick repairs.
