Thanks Rosie.  Yes, it's two different things, the hike is Maryland and the
4 state challenge is VA2PA.  A bit longer and as far as I know, not a formal
thing but a personal challenge.

I'm not sure which the trail angel is interested in, but if it turns out
it's the supported hike I will get his info to you.
What you described is exactly what the other hiker had told me about.
Thanks for all the info.

To everyone else, if anyone has done the 4 state challenge I'd love to hear
about it!
