Appalachian Trail group hosting Spring Bash in W.Va

HARPERS FERRY - The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) and the local
Friends of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) invite the local community to attend
the A.T. Community Spring Bash for kids' activities, food, and fun at the
Bolivar Community Center, located at 60 Panama Street in Harpers Ferry from
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th. This event is free and open to the
public.

Guests will have the opportunity to win prizes, get information on the A.T.,
and enjoy live music. There will also be a "mini" A.T. hike, kids' craft
corner, hiker dress-up trunk, and more! Lunch will be provided.

The towns of Harpers Ferry and Bolivar partnered to become an Appalachian
Trail CommunityT in 2011. The Appalachian Trail CommunityT program is
designed to recognize communities that promote and protect the A.T. Towns,
counties, and communities along the A.T.'s corridor are considered assets by
A.T. hikers and many of these towns act as good friends and neighbors to the
Trail. The program serves to assist communities with sustainable economic
development through tourism and outdoor recreation, while preserving and
protecting the A.T.
